THE CARAVANS OF DEATH
My heavenly country, my Armenia,
during the centuries
had been making a plundering raid on you,
the fraudulent Turk was lying in ambush,
those executioners - so-called pashas –
those monsters Taleat, Enver, Qemal,
leaded by Abdul Hamid,
made a cruel program about
picking my nation up to the root,
and their greatest desire was
to see Armenia without Armenians,
to steal our lands, to stay the owner…
Let them be damned forever!
The Turk bastards, these wild beasts,
were driving my nation out
as a flock of sheep,
and taking them to the sandy and burning
The caravan of death was walking silently,
having the shudder of death in their hearts,
they were breadless and waterless
and in grief while leaving own homes.
And the pogrom perpetrator Turk
that barbarian beast,
plunderer and insidious,
was shedding the blood of innocent children,
young men and girls under age,
one was fiancé, other was bride,
mothers and babies,
and old men – gray with ages,
started on a way…
They started on a way with wail, cry and lament,
and mount Masis was mourning heavily,
The country Armenia was changed to Sodom – Gomorra,
and the beast, without sighing breath,
was killing mercilessly, night and day.
The caravan was walking endlessly,
cherishing hopes inside, but uselessly,
they have been million and even more,
geniuses and common people...
The mother was feeding her baby by own blood,
for to breath her last with dry eyes,
And, I swear, even the executioner would be shocked
from that kind of cruel, evil deed…
The caravan was walking still,
leaving thousands of corpses on the way,
it was a twilight when they reached Der -Zor,
and all the hopes were at least in vain.
The caravan stopped there,
‘cause that desert was the last station for them,
and the desert hugged my poor people,
and became the cemetery for them all.
The Turk pashas won finally,
their plan has been done successfully,
Der-Zor was fully covered with corpses,
neither hundreds, nor thousands, but countless.
And after that, right one century
the Armenian Genocide has been slurred over,
and no word about Turks
who devoured Armenians’ blood,
and no judgment at all
for that shameless bastard.
My poor nation became a martyr cruelly,
by the dirty hands of barbarian beasts,
And this was only God who protected my nation
and raising from ashes, gave them salvation.
you’re indebted to my nation,
‘cause you did accomplice to that Genocide,
You’re ambiguous, venal and rough,
the Armenian Genocide weighed on your conscience.
World, you’re silent as grave,
as you’ve washed your hands by Armenian blood,
you’ve released the Turk,
you’ve changed your benefit to Armenians’ heads,
and this is your time, world,
to pay for your silence.
Acknowledge your guilt finally
and take that mask of the innocence off,
and don’t go on acting like stupid,
you can’t slur over our problem like that.
The Turk has stretched his hands
having a great appetite to capture Europe,
World, it’s your turn now
to watch Armenians and judge truly,
